According to the previous experience, the new iPhone launched at Sep.12th should be called “iPhone 7s”, but it came to us with a name “iPhone 8”. As iPhone 8 and iPhone 7 have the same size display, the LCD screen sizes are almost the same.

So we can’t find the differences from the front but there are some small differences on the back. Refer to the picture, the buckle on the top of iPhone 7 is plastic, on the bottom is metal while the iPhone 8 is just the opposite.

Secondly, we test the screen touch function, there is no touch, no matter how crazy we touch it and the screen still doesn’t work.

Thirdly, test the 3D Touch function, close the screen then open it through power button, press the fish on the screen, the 3D Touch also not work.

The last, test whether the iPhone 7 logic board is in good condition. Install the iPhone 7 LCD screen on the iPhone 7 logic board and test all functions, it works smoothly.

So the test result is that the iPhone 8 LCD screen is not working on the iPhone 7.

Install the iPhone 7 LCD screen in the iPhone 8

When we install the iPhone 7 LCD screen in the iPhone 8 and turn on the phone, the phone is stuck at Apple Logo with a white screen.

To solve this problem, we force restart the iPhone 8:

Firstly, press and quickly release the Volume + button.

Secondly, press and quick release the Volume _ button.

The last, press and hold the side button until the Apple Logo appears.

Unfortunately, it is still stuck at the Apple Logo with the white screen.

To prove the iPhone 8 Logic board is in good condition, we install the iPhone 8 LCD screen in the logic board and test the screen touch function, everything runs well.

So the result is that the iPhone 7 LCD screen also can’t work on the iPhone 8.
